Description

Our rump steak is incredibly succulent, dense and packed with flavour.
Its great for frying, grilling or barbecuing
Rump is cut from the hind quarter, with a thin strip of fat for flavouring.

Cooking tips

Heat some oil in a pan or griddle, Rump can be cooked at a higher temperature as it is a denser cut allowing the rind to crisp (stand the steak to sear the rind).
Cook the steaks to your liking following the recommended times:

Rare: 2-3 minutes per side, rest for 6 minutes
Medium: 3-4 minutes per side, rest for 4 minutes
Well Done: 5-6 minutes per side, rest for 1 minute

Season with sea salt and black pepper after cooking to avoid scorching the pepper in the hot pan.

Remove from heat and cover with foil to rest and allow the meat to relax.
